A FIVE-PART SERIES TO MAKE YOU QUESTION EVERYTHING
Here’s DAY 3 of my 5-part series on core values – what they are and what they mean.
So we’re clear, I’m using “values” in this context to mean:
Non-negotiable moral or ethical positions which define thoughts, actions and behaviour.
Remember my first two core values are:
- I always strive to leave the world better than I found it
- I would rather turn away a client than work with the wrong one
MY VALUE NUMBER THREE: I ALWAYS SHOW UP AUTHENTICALLY
In practice, this means:
- Never trying to be someone I’m not
- Only saying what I know to be true
- Admitting if I don’t know the answer
- Owning up to my mistakes
- Doing only what makes me happy
- Confronting injustice or unkindness where I find it
- Hanging out with people I like
- Doing the best work I can, always
- Only teaching what I have proven to work
I could go on, but you get the idea.
