In his international best-selling book, appropriately called This Is Marketing, Seth Godin provides us with this fabulous little nugget of wisdom:
Marketing is the generous act of helping someone solve a problem. Their problem.
Boom! A thousand times boom!
All I can add to that perfectly-formed verbiage is this:
Find your someone, find their problem, and go to work helping them.
