Why you’re not following up

There’s a big misunderstanding in our community over why your prospects aren’t responding to your emails or messages.

You’re too quick to assume it means they’re not interested, so you kill the lead, and don’t bother asking them again.

And I get it. You don’t want to appear spammy or salesy.

That’d make perfect sense if you were right, and they weren’t interested.

But sadly (or happily, actually) you’re wrong about them.

It’s not they’re not interested. They haven’t replied because they haven’t read it.

It went into spam
They were too busy to look when it arrived
It slipped down their feed

The vast majority of message and email communications simply go unopened and unread.

So when we say “it’s all in the follow-up”, that’s exactly what we mean.

Send a variation of your original message (not the same one, that’s just lazy) at least three times before you can even guess that they’re not interested.

Your prospects will thank you for giving them the chance to work with you, and you’ll get paid more, and sooner.
