It’s easy to get caught up in the pursuit of happiness through inane micro-pleasures, but I’d rather be creating something that impacts peoples lives, both now and after I’m gone.
- Helping people thrive in their own business, instead of helping myself to whatever I can get
- Growing a global venture that excites me every day, instead of growing old and tired
- Writing about all the lessons I leaned the hard way, instead of writing them off as experience
- Taking my lad to the playcentre and the park, instead of taking the weekends off
- Building a life that matters, instead of building resentment that I never tried as hard as I could
It hasn’t always been this way.
I’m the first to admit that there have been times – decades even – when I seemed to be deliberately coasting, wilfully squandering the gifts I could have been spreading, and doing nothing of value to anyone.
If you’re feeling like that, even a bit, don’t worry.
It’s never too late to turn things around and start work on your legacy.
