When you see somebody saying something you disagree with on social media, you may be tempted to point them to the “correct” way to think instead.
Showing off your chops, your skills and your superior knowledge for the whole world to see.
The trouble with that game, is that you can’t win.
- If they kick back and you lose, you lose
- If they agree and look stoopid, you lose too.
As Seth Godin reminded me recently:
“Earning trust beats earning envy”
So, if you get invited to the online argument game, simply refuse to play.
Now THAT’S the winning move.
