Why I’m mad at you

“A talent squandered is one of life’s greatest travesties”

If that isn’t a quote for the history books, it ought to be. Maybe it will be, soon. Google is watching all of us, and reading all our words.

Anyway, seeing travesties unfolding makes me mad. And if you’ve been doing any of these things, I’m mad at you:

1: Spending the summer building your website instead of instigating conversations with your next ideal clients
2: Designing digital assets, brochures and presentations for imaginary people you haven’t spoken to yet
3: Dropping links to your friend’s YouTube channel on your social profiles instead of posting about your work
4: Studying for more qualifications when nobody’s paying you for the ones you already have yet
5: Justifying downtime as “self-care” when you haven’t achieved anything productive with your uptime

Here’s the harsh truth about life as an entrepreneur – magnified a thousand times if you’re a solopreneur:

It’s hard. It’s meant to be hard.

If it was easy, nobody would instead choose a life of servitude working for companies and organisations for a paltry wage.

Most people haven’t taken the brave step to self-employment, and never will. Not only don’t they have the balls, they don’t have the talent.

But you do. You have the talent.

Don’t you dare squander it with pitiful execution. Start conversations every day, and turn your sublime gifts into revenue.

You don’t want to make me any more angry.

Still love you lots
Jonny
