Do you ever find yourself asking “WHY?!”
As in:
- Why am I doing this?
- Why don’t I do something else?
- Why is my business useful, and to whom?
If you don’t ask those questions often, you should.
This weekend, go back to first principles and remind yourself why you’re in business.
If you can’t answer those questions – and feel satisfied with your answers – maybe it’s time to consider a different path.
Otherwise, you risk rowing hard in the wrong direction, against the current and frittering away your precious, irreplaceable life.
Don’t fall into the trap cartoonist Walt Kelly describes satirically:
“Having lost sight of our objectives, we redoubled our efforts.”
Love you lots
Jonny
