She was so confused

“A confused mind never buys”, as I mentioned to a marketing whizz friend at the weekend. 

And she came right back with another obvious truth:

“Yes, and a confused mind never SELLS either.”

It got me wondering whether that’s more of a problem than the other one. Never mind muddling them up with industry jargon, convoluted acronyms and some crazy spin on your tools you just made up.

Maybe you’re winding yourself in knots trying to understand what the hell it is you’re really doing.

And maybe, until you get rid of that confusion over your offering, nobody else has a chance of understanding it, let alone buying it.

To kick off this glorious week, grab a pencil and write ONE sentence in answer to the question, “What is it you do?”, as if a 12-year-old asked it.
