It’s good to hedge your bets, right?

Have your finger in various pies?

We all know a “serial entrepreneur” doing a bit of this, and a bit of that.

Well here’s the truth about anyone achieving success in a variety of different disciplines:

1: They started one first, and made it work, really well
2: When they started the 2nd, it stood alone and didn’t affect the success of the first
3: They built a really strong team to run either or both so they didn’t have to
4: They never spent a day working on both at the same time. That’s kinda impossible
5: At some point, they probably ditched whichever performed worse in favour of the better one

It’s a rare individual indeed who manages to juggle two golden balls at once.

For that reason, I’ve made my decision.

ONE bullet-proof business – CIB Global
ONE ideal client – companies and organisations which employ people
ONE massive transformational benefit – improving the wellbeing of their staff

I’ve no time to faff around playing with something new that may or may not work.

It could break everything else.

Love you lots

She's so smart

When Oscar was 3 years old, he loved hearing that wonderful children’s story involving bears, chairs, porridge and beds.

The star of the tale is a girl who tries things three times till she finds what’s just right for her.

Not too big, not too small.
Not too hot, not too cold.
Not too hard, not too soft.

And in your coaching or consulting business, there’s some power in using the Goldilocks strategy to guide you to better decisions and more success.

Clients who stretch you without turning you inside out

A to-do list with more than 0 and less than 5 things on it

A content plan that gets you engagement but doesn’t drive you to exhaustion

Colleagues who pull you forwards without ripping your arms from their sockets

An offer priced low enough so your ideal clients can afford it, and high enough so you can thrive

When you find yourself overwhelmed, overworked or burned out, it’s worth asking the question:

What would Goldilocks do now?

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: I think 3-5 lucrative corporate engagements is all it will take to thrive as a wellbeing consultant to companies and organisations.

Join us as a consultant in the CIB project, and find out how to do that.

In my imperfect life and career so far, here are some of the lowlights:

Sticking at being a broke musician for a few years too long

Believing my first wife when she said “for as long as we both shall live”

Turning away a business opportunity that made millions for someone else

Selling my own 8-figure business to a bunch of incompetent hucksters

Squandering my remaining wealth in pursuit of material pleasures

Going bankrupt after a decade-long taste of the international highlife

Succumbing to a campaign of parental alienation that almost finished me off

Mired in misery, questioning my self-worth for another 10 years

And then…

I met the current Mrs C, started a new family and an upgraded Jonny emerged.

My 2017 business, Everyone Hates Marketing, helped over 1500 coaches and therapists get their businesses off the line.

Then just last year, I left the UK for the Mediterranean paradise of Gibraltar and launched CIB Global, rapidly becoming a serious player in the world of corporate wellbeing, with over 60 skilled consultants onboard.

Useful lessons from my 68-year perspective:

1: Shit happens. All the time, and to everyone
2: How you react to it is entirely up to you
3: It ain’t over till it’s over. If you’re reading this you’re still alive, so get to it.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: If you’re tired of over-demanding, under-paying 1-2-1 clients, joining us in CIB is a serious upgrade you might want to consider.

Type “CIB” in reply to this email, and we can have a chat about how you’d fit in the world of corporate wellbeing.

Don't listen!

I have a great piece in my archive about why some of the most talented people undervalue themselves.

In their head, they’re listening to an evil monkey whose job it is to sabotage their lives and keep them swimming in the dark pond of mediocrity with everyone else.

So they end up asking for too low a salary or charging fees a fraction of what they could.

The reasons for this strange behaviour are many, and include:

Not realising how much they know, and how valuable it is to the rest of us

Comparing themselves to others, whilst ignoring their completely different talents and journeys

Ignoring positive feedback and focusing only on the naysayers

Believing they’ve got to prove themselves further before charging or earning top dollar

Nervous about “blowing the deal” by pricing themselves out of the market

If you’re reading this, I know you’re talented, ambitious, grounded and worth every penny.

Don’t let the evil monkey tell you otherwise.

See you around
Jonny

PS: If you’re in my Everyone Hates Marketing Facebook Group, head over and answer this one fun question.

It's just bananas

Super-coach Rich Litvin reminded me about a ploy that stealthy poachers use to trap monkeys.

They bury a banana in a hole just big enough for a monkey to get their hand in, but not big enough to allow the monkey to pull out the banana in their clenched fist.

Lacking the imagination to let go of the banana and scarper to safety, the hapless simian is paralysed and becomes a sitting duck.

So now you know how to turn a monkey into a duck, what does this have to do with your business?

Simple.

Many coaches and consultants also self-sabotage by gripping tightly onto things they really, really should let go of:

A client who pays too little and demands too much

A business model that hasn’t worked over years of trying

A scarcity mindset over money, keeping them poor

A comfort zone that means they play small, forever

1:2:1 client engagements as their only offering

A partnership where they’re doing all the work

Monkeys can’t read, so I know you’re not a monkey.

So let go of your bananas, and go find freedom in another place.

See you around
Jonny

PS: Not long to the launch of my all-new course, designed to get you your first (or next) corporate wellbeing consultancy gig within 30 days.

What they really mean

When a client says “I can’t afford it”, that’s rarely what they mean. When a corporate buyer says, “we don’t have the budget for that”, they’re likely spending millions on other stuff every month.

What they really mean is:

You haven’t excited me enough yet

I don’t believe I’ll achieve my dreams if I do this

Sure I could find the money, but not for you

I’d be in trouble if I spent money on this

It sounds ok, but not urgent enough

I don’t like you enough to trust you

This is a risk I’m not prepared to take

Trouble is, they rarely say any of that stuff.

People are too nice to say those things.

So, they tell pretty lies about affordability and budget.

Of course, it’d actually be “nicer” if they just told the truth, because at least you’d learn what needs improving.

So, for now, you’ll have to take it from me:

Nobody has a budget for coaching or consulting.

But everybody has a budget for making their lives easier, improving their reputation, realising their dreams, and making themselves feel loved, happy and respected.

Listen to what they really want, show them how you can provide it, and the budget will appear.

As if by magic.

See you around,
Jonny

PS: Do you want to be able to open a conversation with any decision-maker, in any organisation which employees people?

I’ve got an updated version of my tell-all eBook all about why they should invest in employee wellbeing, and how it changes the lives of everyone involved.

Type “Wellbeing” in reply to this email, and you can have a copy, with my compliments.

Always up, never down

There are only three ways to earn more money as a coach or consultant:

1: Find more new clients
2: Sell more to existing clients
3: Raise your prices

The third of those is the easiest to implement, and by some margin.

So easy, in fact, that it requires no effort on your part, beyond making the decision.

Here’s why you probably should increase your prices, right now:

You’re almost certainly undercharging at the moment

You’ll attract clients where you can have more impact

You’ll feel better about yourself, getting paid more

You can do more with your life, with more money

Your authority, value and reputation will increase

Finally, to bust a common myth:

You won’t find it any harder to make sales when you charge more.

JFDI, I dare you.

See you around

PS: Talking of earning more money, it’s boom-time in corporate wellbeing consulting, and you could be part of it with a little tweak to your messaging.

Warning: Scary message

Since 2017, over 1200 people have paid to join one of my programmes or courses, and these Daily Brain Tattoos have been read well over 3 million times.

That’s given me a ton of feedback into how humans think and behave, and I’ve got a mental shortlist of what makes a successful coach or consultant.

There’s an even longer list of things that block success, and right at the top of the list is a sure-fire dream-killer:

Believing doing the same stuff you’ve always done will take you to new places.

Because we’re hard-wired to avoid discomfort, trying something new is naturally scary and to-be-avoided.

I get that.

Here are a few behaviours you might need to change if you want to improve your life:

Saying you’re “not techie” instead of learning to use the essential tools of the 21st century

Having an ethical objection to sending cold messages because “it’s just not me”

Looking at people who’ve experienced extreme good luck and assuming it’ll land in your lap too

Believing money is evil, and rich people must have done something bad to accumulate wealth

Saying you want to do something, then not being prepared to work to make it happen

Thinking your fitness/brainpower/stamina will naturally endure from your 30s all the way through middle-age

Getting a few qualifications and expecting clients to be so impressed they’ll fall into your lap

I could go on, but you get the idea.

Forging a life of success for yourself means you’ll be breathing rare air, and mixing with uniquely motivated and determined people. You don’t get to join that party with the mindset of an employee.

You have to change how you behave, to change your results.

You might even have to change who you are.

See you around
Jonny

PS: As Robin Sharma says, “All change is difficult at first, messy in the middle and beautiful at the end.”

I’m putting together an all-new mini-course that’ll change your life if you follow it. It’s called the Corporate Consulting Launch Pack, and it’s a simple A-Z guide to helping organisations with employee wellbeing.

Reply with “CCLP” and I’ll make sure you get the details when it’s ready.

Obvious really

As the wise old Greek, Epicurus, once said:

“The acquisition of riches has been for many men, not an end, but a change, of troubles”

If you meet wealthy people who are living a happy, fulfilled, rounded life, then that’s probably how they already were before they were rich.

Money’s just an amplifier of everything you already are.

If you’re selfish now, you’ll be more selfish with more wealth

If you’re miserable, money will likely make you depressed

If you’re happy, life will be even more joyful with some spare cash around

The really great news about understanding those simple truths is that money doesn’t need to be your main goal anymore.

Banish forever your internal stories about “just another grand a month and I’ll be fine”.

Choose to be fine anyway, and the money will come.

I promise.

See you around

Everyone’s idea of success is different, but let’s agree on some common markers:

1: You have enough money to meet all your needs and desires
2: You have a circle of friends and family who love, like and respect you
3: Your health and mobility don’t restrict you from doing anything you want to do
4: You have daily goals and long-term ambitions that keep your brain active and motivated
5: You can look back on your life so far and feel a sense of pride and fulfilment with your achievements

If any of those feel a bit loose right now, maybe you’ve engrained some of these unhelpful habits:

Over-planning and underdoing – action beats thoughts

Taking without giving back – try giving first

Waiting for perfection – great is good enough

Eating poorly – there’s enough excellent food around

Sleeping badly – you know where your bed is

Travelling to work – home office = smart

Stopping before you’re done – you’re closer than you think

emailing instead of talking – conversations are what get you paid

Dealing with idiots – they’ll beat you with experience

Settling for average – unless you want an average life

You’re desperate for money – that mindset will keep you poor

You never start conversations with strangers – it’s magic for the soul

Sitting down all day – it’s a modern invention that’s killing you

Believing you’ll never “make it” – you’ll prove yourself right

Scrolling social media – I mean, c’mon. Really??!!

There’s no ONE secret to success.

It’s the accumulation of small, smart actions, leveraging your skills and experience to create your best life.

And that’s all any of us can do.

What’s your best habit?

See you around
Jonny

You'll run out...

Unless you’re a parking meter, a hotel wi-fi router or a sun-bed, there’s never a reason to charge for your time, and here’s why:

Time is a finite resource, whereas money is an infinite resource.

Therefore, it makes no sense to exchange something in short supply for something which will never, ever run out.

Also, as we’ve all got access to approximately 86,400 seconds each day, who are you to tell me your time is worth more than mine? Or less?

No, the grown-up, fair and reasonable way to get paid for what you do is this:

Charge for the value you provide to the person who is paying you.

If you’re a heart surgeon who just saved my life, you’re pretty valuable to me right now

If you’re a financial adviser who just put me on the path to a comfortable retirement, I value that highly too

If you’re a business coach who’s spent the last 25 years learning how to supercharge my success, I’ll pay you a big chunk to show me that

And when you allow us to pay you for the value you give us, the more value you give, the more we will pay you.

Today’s three-part success blueprint:

1: Solve a big expensive problem for us

2: Get really good at doing it

3: Charge us what that’s worth

And the other great news with that approach?

You can do this for multiple clients simultaneously, as you haven’t sold your time to anyone.

See you around
Jonny

PS: I’m cooking up something big for the start of next month. It’s called the Corporate Consulting Launch Pack, and it’s the A-Z blueprint for everything you need to do to win your first lucrative corporate engagement. It’s priced so you can afford it, and you won’t want to miss it.

Reply with “CCLP” and I’ll make sure you get a personal note from me when it’s ready.

Business guru Jim Rohn said:

“Don’t join an easy crowd; you won’t grow. Go where the expectations and the demands to perform are high.”

And that can be tough. It might hurt our feelings.

It’s way more comfortable to network, collaborate, and even partner with those a few steps behind us.

There’s no risk of being challenged, or worse.

Being “found out”.

Well, here’s the news:

Having someone call you out on your strategy, your process, and your business ideas is no bad thing, right?

In fact, the easy way to upscale your life is to upscale your relationships.

Try it today!

In any business, there are three ways to earn more money:

1: Find more new clients
2: Sell more to existing clients
3: Raise your prices

The third of those is the easiest to implement, and by some margin.

So easy, in fact, that it requires almost no effort on your part, beyond making the decision.

Love you lots
Jonny

I like to define and divide my working year by the seasons themselves.

There’s no point in inventing another calendar, and it makes perfect sense to create an ebb and flow in tune with the way the world naturally works.

As you head into Autumn 2025, there’s lots to accomplish.

It’s not only about ending the year on the highest of high peaks, but it’s about getting set up for how much higher you can scale in 2026.

At this point, there’s literally no reason not to sketch out your wildest dreams of abundance. Here are some ideas:

If you’re sick of living with cold winters and rainy summers, where could you move to that would guarantee sunshine?

If you want to double your revenue, what would you need to do to achieve just that?

If you want a dream car/house/[insert desired stuff here] picture it, cost it, and target it, on paper

If finding a perfect business partner is your goal for next year, get out and meet people, now

If you’d like to contact Richard Branson and ask for his help, what’s stopping you?

In fact, all you ever need to do to meet any goal is make a plan and execute it, good and hard.

What’s your wildest dream for 2026?

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: Reply with your wildest dreams for 2026, and I’ll send you a custom roadmap to help you get there.

It's all good

A couple of years ago, I heard a chap in a bar saying “it takes money to make money” to his mate as they discussed the automatic success of some lucky rich guy they both knew.

Here’s some actual truisms about why people succeed in business:

They have a great idea

They execute the idea with passion and commitment

The excuse of not having enough money is rarely true, and even then it’s only ever partially responsible for a business failure. In fact, having too much money can be just as catastrophic.

I’ve bootstrapped 7 ventures, including one which grew to a £10m turnover from zero without a penny of outside cash beyond revenue from sales.

And I work with inspiring entrepreneurs every day who create personal consultancy firms, going to market with nothing but beaming smiles and a sensational idea.

If “not having money” is stopping you building the business and the life of your dreams, maybe it’s time to find another business.

Love you lots
Jonny

Work it out...

Happy Saturday, and let’s talk about your future.

The future you haven’t built yet, but you’re dreaming about today.

You might feel like you have an established business, that you know exactly what you’re doing, and that all you have to do is keep going down the same path. Eventually, you’ll meet all your personal, financial and lifestyle goals, right?

Well, yes and no.

I ran an intimate, personalised marketing course for coaches called the Client Attraction Blueprint from 2017 to 2024, building businesses for over 400 students and generating almost $2M in revenue. After over 100 launches, I’d completely mastered every aspect of enrolment, delivery and impact.

I was truly on autopilot.

But by March last year I’d had enough of it. I woke up one morning and asked myself, “Is this my life?”

I realised the path to true growth and fulfilment comes from new ideas, from reinvention and pushing out of comfort zones into unchartered territory.

Now, I’m a year into my rebirth as founder of Consultants In Business, and challenging myself every day. Not only do we have over 50 skilled and experienced wellbeing practitioners in the community, but we’re winning lucrative corporate engagements that will endure for years.

There’s so much I don’t know about the business of corporate wellbeing, but I’m sure CIB has an exponential future, as it’s a holy alliance of my two core assets:

1: My lifetime experience launching, advising and exiting myriad ventures
2: The incredible depth of talent in my existing community of coaches and therapists

My only regret is maybe I should have got started earlier.

So, weekend thought exercise for you:

What is the most exciting, scalable and impactful venture you could create, given your skills, experience and ambition?

Drop me a reply with your answer, and I’ll give you a tip to help make it happen.

Love you lots
Jonny

Crazy prices...

Well no, likely you’re not.

In Paris last weekend, ordinary cafes asked me for €10 per cappuccino, and Nikes in the Champs-Élysées were twice the price I’d seen anywhere else.

People buy paper-clips from Tiffany’s for $1500, and tin cans from the same catalogue for $1,100.

$450 is the going rate for pre-dirtied jeans from Nieman Marcus, and you can even buy a burger for $6,000 at a Dutch cafe.

“Expensive” is a relative term, and it’s relative to the perceived exchange of value.

If you’re getting pushback from potential clients based on price, think about improving the value exchange.

Once they realise they have to have what you’re offering, right here, right now – and they can only get it from you – your work is worth exponentially more.

You just need to make them see it.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: One place you’ll always be valued is in the world of corporate wellbeing consulting. Just a handful of lucrative engagements can make your whole year, every year.

Want to find out how? Type “corporate” and I’ll send you my free eBook all about it.

Hard times could be around the corner – any corner, any time.

That doesn’t mean you have to suffer, of course. Not if you learn to create your Own Economy.

You do that by choosing to work with clients whose own lives and businesses are recession-proof, but who suffer with the kind of problems you specialise in solving.

SOME EXAMPLES OF RECESSION-PROOF BUSINESSES & PROFESSIONS:

Lawyers
Accountants
Energy production & distribution
High-end auctioneers
Dentists
Specialist doctors and consultants
Surgeons
Politicians
Share traders
Foreign Exchange traders
Estate Agents (Realtors for you ‘Mericans)
Judges
Retired business owners and/or their spouses
Banking execs
Pharmaceutical execs
Financial advisers
Successful business owners and/or their spouses
Professional investors
Finance brokers
Supercar dealers and brokers (see image)

etc etc…

For fun, have a look in your back catalogue and see if you ever worked with any of those. Add to the list if you like.

Then go talk to them, and make offers. There’s plenty of money everywhere.

Here's an easier idea

In the rush for “passive income” there’s a flurry of coaches and therapists launching subscription membership communities.

And yet, there is a vanishingly small number of successful platforms creating anything like a viable lifestyle for their founders.

If you’re just starting out, here’s the truth about setting up a recurring revenue stream:

1: You need a lot of people to pay you small monthly amounts to make a living from it
2: Some people drop out after a month, and on average stay for 7-8 months
3: So, you’re constantly fighting to replace the ones who leave, just to stand still
4: At (say) £50/month subscription level, each member is worth £350-£400 on average
5: You’d be better off creating a £997 offer and selling that to a handful of people each month

OR…bonus idea: sell a £4,000 programme and let people choose their own payment plan. That way they’re committed to paying over the long haul, you have no concerns over cancellations, and everyone’s a winner!

I’m not here to burst any bubbles, and yes, there are outliers doing ok with memberships.

Some people win the lottery too, but that doesn’t mean you will.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: The ultimate antidote to low-paying memberships is scoring a handful of lucrative corporate engagements.

Moms and dads, then every self-help book in history teaches the same delusion:

“You can be anything you want to be”.

Those 8 toxic words have entrapped and disempowered more people around the world than almost any other fairy tale.

Locked in the torment of believing you can achieve anything you set your mind to, you’ll be grasping at straws, gasping for air, and grappling with impossible dreams.

Here’s a more reliable route to your dream life:

Identify your values and your passion

Come up with an idea that serves those values and that passion

Calibrate the level of your ability to reach an audience who’ll pay you for it

Reach out for help, support and guidance to hone your idea and widen your audience

Check regularly if you’re getting closer to your dreams. If not, come up with another idea instead

That’s pretty much what every successful person does, every day.

Just don’t get seduced by wild imaginings, as down that road lies madness, wasted lives and crushing disappointment.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS – If you think you could succeed as a corporate wellbeing coach and build a thriving practice, the best time to start is right now.

You just need a little guidance – like my comprehensive eBook, Five Steps to Lucrative Corporate Clients.

Type “Five Steps” in reply to this email, and I’ll fire you a copy over right away.

Who are your people?

Some questions:

Why are some people massively successful while others struggle to make a living?

How can one person amass a personal fortune doing what thousands of others do to almost no effect?

How can so few of us actually breakthrough and manage what the rest only dream of?

In other words, what makes the 1%?

They’re the inspirational, creative, productive, generous group, responsible for wealth-building and economic growth. The tiny elite who employ the world and change the world.

Here’s what the 1% looks like in the UK:

Generally a business owner or high-ranking executive

Personal wealth of at least £3m

Personal income over £250,000 pa

How can you achieve that? How can you become the 1%?

One of the key drivers of ultimate success, if not THE key driver, is the strength of your network.

Connections.

You’ll become the 1% by connecting to people who can help you get where you want to go.

Sadly, 99% of people are connected to the wrong people. They haven’t worked out who they need in their success network, and who to keep out.

They randomly link up with others who don’t share their goals. Every day, they’re being influenced by people who distract and disconnect them from those goals, sometimes forever.

Once you realise you get to choose who you hang out with, it’s a liberating revelation.

Exercise for today: Make a list of the ten people you have contact with most regularly. And yes, include your partner/spouse.

Then ask of each:

“Is this person moving me closer to my goals, or driving me away from them?”

When you have your answers, you know what comes next.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: When you become a CIB consultant, you’ll be hanging out with people who support companies and organisations at scale with their employee wellbeing.

A handful of lucrative corporate engagements will put you firmly in the 1% and liberate you forever from a mediocre life.

Reply with “1%” and I’ll send you my all-new eBook all about how to do this.

Read all about them

A common thread that unites successful people is “reading a lot of books.”

Bill Gates reads 50 books a year, Elon Musk said he learned to build rockets because “I read books” and Warren Buffet devotes 5 hours a day to reading.

Here’s why reading real books is an essential part of a rich, fulfilled life:

The more you read, the more you know

It’s a brain workout

Flipping physical pages helps context and understanding

It’s a stress-buster

It improves your memory

It expands vocabulary and broadens analytical skills

It’s no use just reading any old book though.

Books about other people score top in terms of self-improvement.

Biographies open the door on successful lives and let us learn how greatness thinks, not just view its results.

Pick your five heroes and read their life stories this month.

You could be closer to them than you know.

Love you lots
Jonny

It's everywhere and nowhere

You want to make money?

Bad news: It’s impossible.

Unless you’re a central bank or literally the printing press at the mint, nobody makes money. All the money you could ever need or want is already made.

It’s just in the wrong bank account.

I didn’t understand this for years. In my twenties, I tried all kinds of crackpot money-making schemes, and none of them worked. Never mind barking up the wrong tree. I was in the wrong forest.

Once i realised wealth creation is the reward for giving value, I changed the whole way I approached business.

I found more ways to help people

I got really good at marketing

I honed my sales chops

I created an impact

I changed lives

The more impact you have, the more people you help and the more lives you change, the more you’ll exchange that for personal wealth.

But making money?

Stop trying, and work on getting rich instead.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: One of the shortest routes to wealth creation is the massive impact you achieve through corporate wellbeing consulting. In fact, changing thousands of lives for the better will naturally attract financial rewards.

If you’re wondering how to do that, reply with “Wealth” and I’ll fire over a guide book all about it.

Speak up...

Most of us get approaches from clients who think they have a problem we can solve.

They might also believe they know what’s causing it.

Like a patient going to her doctor demanding treatment for her emphysema when she’s unwittingly contracted TB, your clients are not always right about what’s troubling them.

Your stressed-out mum client might think their kids are causing daily anxiety, when it’s her own unresolved childhood trauma

Your business owner client might think he has a sales problem when it’s actually an offer problem

Your HR manager client might think she has a lazy workforce when it’s a simple failure of leadership

Your CEO client might tell you they want anger management training when they actually need a proper wellbeing policy

Your coach client might think they’re not qualified enough when they’re actually not positioning their services well enough

So what’s the answer?

Be prepared to reframe the client’s initial statements with nonaggressive questioning.

I wonder if there’s something else going on?

What’s the evidence this is the main issue?

What assumptions are we making here?

What happens then is often to mutual benefit.

The client sees the issue is not quite as simple as they thought, and needs more work over a longer period.

You get to stick around, get paid more, and they get a solution that actually works.

Win-win!

Love you lots

Just that bit better...

When Vilfredo Pareto published his 1903 book, Manual of Political Economy, he wrote about a discovery later to become a byline for business success: the 80/20 principle.

He wasn’t literally saying that 80% of anything happens to or is caused by 20% of the players. He was describing the idea that the majority of rewards go to a minority of participants in any field.

There’s a winner-takes-all aspect to much of human endeavour, and here’s how that holds true in your life and business:

Any achievement – writing a best-selling book, scoring a high-paying job, becoming known as an authority – makes further achievement more likely

Your success is affected by limits of customer attention, spending capability and their desire for action. Capture that once and you will likely do it again and again.

You don’t have to crush the competition for your audience. When 10 people pitch for a job, only one gets it. Being 1% better gets 100% of the result.

People and businesses who are consistently 1% better will dominate their respective fields.

Your 1% edge comes from being unafraid to take risks, from being original and grabbing our attention with your fantastic creations.

Don’t envy the 1%.

BE the 1%.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: There’s no doubt that 20% of consultants win 80% of the lucrative corporate wellbeing engagements. If you’re unsure how to get into that world, reply with “Wellbeing” and I’ll send you an eBook all about it, with my compliments.

It's all going bad!

I was talking yesterday with a coach who told me she wants to break into corporate wellbeing consulting.

She’s hesitating because:

“The world’s a crazy place right now!
The economy is uncertain!
We might be on the verge of WW3!
I want to wait till things calm down a bit!”

OK. Let’s unpack that.

1: The world is always a crazy place. That’s what makes life fun and rewarding.
2: The economy is always uncertain. That’s why it’s such a privilege being able to build our own economy as entrepreneurs.
3: WW3 is always a possibility. Or not. So what? You’ll be better off in either scenario with a thriving business and financial stability.
4: Things will never calm down. The natural state universe of the universe is entropy – the tendency towards chaos.

The real issue for this lady is confusing things over which she has no control with those she can control.

Can control: Personal emotions, thoughts and actions
No control: Everything else

Understanding that universal truth is the ultimate key to success in life and business.

For the record, this happens to be an excellent time to get into corporate wellbeing consulting. You get paid more, for longer, and you only need a small handful of clients.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: If you’re unsure how to get into corporate wellbeing with a few lucrative engagements, reply with “Wellbeing” and I’ll send you an eBook all about it, with my compliments.

Maybe it shouldn't...

I’ve been watching a wonderful documentary called Laurel Canyon, about the hippy rock scene of the late 60s and early 70s based in that particular area of LA.

Eagles frontman and legendary musician Don Henley spoke a universal truth when he said:

Most people who make it big are not prepared for it. Success can be just as scary as failure, if not scarier. Some people don’t actually live through it.

And it got me wondering: does any of this stuff make you scared?

The chance to live the life of your dreams however and where you want

Planning a real business instead of an expensive hobby

The idea you could be world renowned for your skills and abilities

The thought you could be earning ten times what you’re earning today

Believing your legacy of impact could live on long after you’re gone

If any of that does make you feel queasy, anxious or incredulous, try this:

1: Look around for someone in your profession already successfully living that life
2: Research their background and examine their current processes
3: Ask, if they can do it, why can’t I?

If any other answer than “No Reason Why” comes up, you’re missing the point.

Success is nothing to be scared of.

Living out your life at a fraction of your potential is way more terrifying.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: On the 9th June, I’m running my groundbreaking workshop all about how to flourish with a few non-scary lucrative engagements with companies and organisations who need you, called “Thriving In Corporate Wellbeing” – [AKA – Tap Into The New Coaching Paradigm For 2025].

It's all in the mind...

As Rich Litvin says, “Money stuff is rarely about money stuff”.

Money’s primary purpose is to create choice, freedom and opportunity, so it’s natural to seek a little more, always.

But in your 21st century coaching or consultancy business, you have to strike a balance between chasing money and not caring about money.

Too much chasing money and you’ll:

Seem desperate to everyone you talk to

Regard getting paid as the “close” of the deal

Employ debt collectors when someone defaults

Deny access to anyone unless they’ve paid you first

Refuse collaborations in case they steal your clients

Too much not caring about money and you’ll:

Undercharge, with everyone

Give your work away, always

Make no effort with marketing

Help anyone who needs your help

Collaborate with anyone who asks you

Before you take your next action, ask “what’s this telling me about my money stuff?”

Love you lots

The best marketers have realised that people prefer their transformations in two ways:

1: Quick
2: Easy
(Or 3: both)

That’s why we see slightly incredible claims like:

Rock hard abs in 30 seconds a day with NO exercise!

6-figure coaching business in 3 months with NO audience!

Eliminate stress overnight with this simple hack!

Lose 30 pounds in 30 days without dieting!

Speed-read a novel in 15 minutes this time next week!

etc etc.

And in your 21st century online coaching or consultancy business, you want to be emphasising the efficiency of your services.

So how about this, in response to a prospect telling you their biggest challenges?

“If we could work together for just a few weeks and make all that go away, would you be interested?”

Two words normally follow:

Hell. Yeah.

Love you lots
Jonny

PS: On the 9th June, I’m running my groundbreaking workshop all about how to get to “Hell Yeah!” from decision-makers in companies and organisations who need you, called “Thriving In Corporate Wellbeing” – [AKA – Tap Into The New Coaching Paradigm For 2025].

It’s FREE, but you’ll need to hit the registration link here: https://cib.global/ticw/
